Retail Tech Insights: Selection Methodology
Program Objective
The “Top Retail Tech Solutions and Service Providers” and related recognitions by Retail Tech Insights aim to identify organizations across the retail technology ecosystem that demonstrate leadership in omnichannel enablement, data-driven decision-making, and operational efficiency. The program covers solution and service providers supporting retailers in addressing digital commerce growth, inventory visibility, customer engagement, and the integration of physical and digital retail experiences, alongside organizations delivering retail platforms, POS systems, supply chain and fulfillment solutions, and customer data technologies. It also recognizes providers advancing AI, automation, analytics, and smart in-store retail innovations.
The Selection Framework
Our research team, in collaboration with the Retail Tech Insights Editorial Board, an external panel of industry peers, analysts and subscriber-driven nominations, employs a Retail Technology Value and Performance Index to identify and recognize companies delivering exceptional value to the retail tech industry. Subscriber input plays an important role in the process, highlighting companies that professionals across the industry would recommend to their peers, choose for their own organizations or regard as best-in-class within their domain.
Nominees are scored on a scale of 1–100 across the following four criteria:
Retail Tech Relevance and Use-Case Fit (30%)
Assessment focuses on how closely a provider supports retail functions such as digital commerce, inventory management, customer engagement, supply chain coordination and store operations.
Execution Across Retail Technology Environments (25%)
The editorial board examines the provider’s ability to deliver consistently across integrated retail systems, multi-channel operations and diverse retail formats.
Business Impact on Retail Performance (25%)
Scoring considers measurable improvements in sales conversion, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, customer retention and overall retail performance.
Market Confidence and Industry Adoption (20%)
Strong candidates demonstrate sustained client trust through repeat engagements, referrals, subscriber nominations and recognition among retail leaders as credible partners.
